Leona Flach, Manager of Tourism and Marketing says, “Over the years City of Frankfurt has seen continuous increase in Indian tourists which makes India a top source market for us. We have been constantly working with our stakeholders to further boost the tourist arrivals to Frankfurt. In tourism marketing, the most important trade fairs, workshops, and roadshows took place in Dubai, India, Great Britain, and Switzerland.” Frankfurt Tourist+Congress Board conducted a sales mission in Pune in April and hosted a product update webinar in September which was attended by travel agents from all over India.

All international markets showed an increasing number in Length of Stay (LOS) and a rising demand in the trade fair, conference, and business travel segment and in the private travel market, especially for city breaks, contributed to the positive result. The International Tourism Exchange (ITB) returned to Berlin after a three-year break due to the pandemic. Tourismus+Congress GmbH Frankfurt am Main (TCF) was one of the premium partners of the Hessen agency at the newly designed Hessen stand. The largest public trade fair for tourism, the CMT Stuttgart, was also held live again. The TCF presented itself together with the destination FrankfurtRheinMain. The traditional Dippemess in spring marked the start of the folk festival season. The focus was on fast-paced rides and a wide range of restaurants and amusement stalls.

Despite the cool and very changeable weather, the folk festival achieved a good result. The showmen and women were quite satisfied with the number of visitors. The highlight of the second quarter was the St Paul’s Church Festival on the 175th anniversary of the National Assembly in the St Paul’s Church. Around 250,000 guests attended the celebrations and had a choice of 160 program items and projects. As part of congress marketing, Frankfurt Convention Bureau, together with the Destination FrankfurtRheinMain and ten other stand partners, successfully presented a new stand concept at the international trade fair IMEX in Frankfurt. IMEX is considered the world’s leading trade fair for the conference and event industry.
