Fred Lam, CEO of AAHK welcomes first group of passengers

The new SkyPier Terminal at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) welcomed the first group of transfer passengers who travelled by bonded bus from Macao to the airport’s restricted area directly via the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge. The seamless transfer service is also available for air-to-bridge transfer passengers from oversea destinations, who travel by bonded bus from the airport to Macao via the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge.

With the intermodal transfer service at the SkyPier Terminal, either way passengers do not need to go through customs, immigration and quarantine procedures or collect their baggage at HKIA. The process is as seamless as the air-to-air transfer within Terminal 1 or air-to-sea/sea-to-air transfer at HKIA’s SkyPier. The new intermodal transfer service between HKIA and Zhuhai will commence in the next phase.

With the commencement of transfer operation at SkyPier Terminal, the hub function of HKIA in the region will be further enhanced.
