A tireless advocate for modernity, The St. Regis Venice has made a name for itself as a hub of contemporary art that celebrates the hotel’s gorgeous heritage while embracing innovation in all its forms. In its latest creative partnership, the hotel invites guests to reflect on the concept of time and space with a new activation at its Arts Bar. The hotel has partnered with Spanish artists Eugenio Recuenco and Juan Carlos Moya to bring their acclaimed ‘365º’ project to life in a series of site-specific works that reflect their personal vision of the world and society.

Conceived in 2011, ‘365º’ is an ambitious artistic endeavour that took eight years to complete. It consists of 365 photographs, one for each day of the year, each visual subtly analysing reality and holding a mirror up to society with irony, false perception and visual power. The ‘365º’ images incorporate numerous visual references from the worlds of art, cinema, religion, politics and history, creating a multi-layered work that challenges viewers in their process of interpretation.

For the new Arts Bar activation called ‘TERRAZZA 365º AZZARRET,’ the duo opted for an accessible, creative and playful artistic language to bring their art closer to the guests. In ‘Twelve Months, Twelve Cushions,’ twelve of the original ‘365º’ photographs have been transformed into decorative cushions that will change monthly at the Arts Bar of the hotel.

Meanwhile, in the audio-visual piece ‘Wellcome 365º’, Eugenio Recuenco created an airport-style digital display that welcomes guests by capturing their attention with a diary-like visual message transitioning through all the images from the ‘365º’ project.

A special piece from the ‘365º’ project titled, ‘5th August’ will be displayed on the Regina Terrace, an exclusive, canal-side venue for celebrations. Inspired by love, ‘5th August’ highlights Venice’s world-renowned legacy as the city of love.

Additionally, guests can enjoy a special photography-themed cocktail called, ‘Willful Dart.” Recuenco’s photographs are often surreal and suggestive and create a dreamlike and fascinating world. The link between the author and his origins inspires the hotel to create a refreshing cocktail that is a creative twist on the traditional Spanish Horchata and served in a custom-made cocktail glass created by internationally acclaimed Venetian glass workshop Berengo Studio.

The hotel will also introduce a selection of limited-edition postcards showcasing the photographs from ‘TERRAZZA 365º AZZARRET’ installation throughout the year, further immersing them in the experience.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Eugenio and Juan to bring their ‘365º’ project to our Arts Bar, a space that celebrates art and creativity in all its forms,” said Patrizia Hofer, General Manager of The St. Regis Venice. “We hope that the installation will spark curiosity and conversation among guests and inspire them to see the world in a different way.”

The installation launches on 1st February 2024 and will remain through the year
