At the 2023 Australian Event Awards & Symposium, the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) was named Best Exhibition or Trade Show.

AIME earned the coveted accolade on 13 September 13 at a gala event hosted at the Highline Venue in Bankstown, NSW, reinforcing its status as Asia Pacific’s premier trade exhibition for the meetings and events sector.

AIME brings together international and domestic customers with world-class exhibitors from Asia Pacific and throughout the world. The three-day event will be held from 19-21 February 2024 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).

The Australian Event Awards & Symposium is the national awards programme and conference for the Australian events sector, recognising Australia’s most outstanding events and event-related goods, services, and innovations over the previous year.

AIME Event Director Silke Calder said the award was a credit to the AIME team’s relentless efforts to provide an amazing, world-class event each year.

“We are especially pleased to receive this prestigious award after winning Australian Event of the Year in 2022.”  We congratulate all candidates and winners who work tirelessly year after year to make their events outstanding experiences for guests. “I’d also like to thank our partners and event owner, Melbourne Convention Bureau, for all of their help,” she stated.

“It is an honour to be recognised by an organisation like the Australian Event Awards & Symposium, which promotes continued excellence, innovation, and unity in the industry.”  “We are truly thrilled.”

AIME is administered by Talk2 Media & Events, and CEO Matt Pearce expressed his delight that AIME’s position in the business events market has been honoured by AEA for the second year in a row.

“AIME is a melting pot for idea generation, knowledge exchange, professional development, and business event industry advancement.” The AIME team’s dedication to industry consulting establishes a foundation for collaboration and sparks relationships. “Being recognised means a lot,” he said.

According to Julia Swanson, CEO of the Melbourne Convention Bureau, the award underscored the event’s significance, which will be in its 31st year in 2024.

“AIME has been the must-attend event for the Asia Pacific business events industry for more than 30 years, and we are thrilled to have this legacy recognised again in 2023.” This award recognises the show’s commitment to our sector and its capacity to foster important relationships and commercial prospects for all stakeholders, not to mention the tremendous economic advantages to our state. We hope to see everyone again in lovely Melbourne in February 2024.”

According to Ian Steigran, Managing Director of the Australian Event Awards, this year’s awards celebrate a year in which the events sector rebounded from the depths of the COVID-19 crisis.

“Every nominated event, individual, and company inspires creativity, flair, and steely determination to succeed,” he added.

“On this 15th anniversary of the awards, I’d also like to thank the industry, specifically our many judges, partners, and thousands of entrants, for their contributions to ensuring the events industry continues to celebrate and promote itself through the awards.”
