By year’s end, Malaysia Airlines will provide three additional flights to India.

Malaysia Airlines will start a twice-weekly service between Kuala Lumpur and Amritsar on the eighth of November. The carrier will begin operating twice-weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Thiruvananthapuram the following day.

Beginning on the first of December, Malaysia Airlines will resume service between its Kuala Lumpur hub and Ahmedabad with four weekly services.

The carrier will deploy the Boeing 737-800 with 160 seats (16 in business class and 144 in economy) and service flights between Amritsar, Thiruvananthapuram, and Ahmedabad.

With this growth, Malaysia Airlines will serve a total of nine cities in India on direct flights from Kuala Lumpur.

The airline operates from Kuala Lumpur to New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kochi.

“India remains a key market for Malaysia Airlines; hence, we are delighted to introduce three new routes into our Indian network, which will provide added convenience for travellers, strengthen our presence in this core market and extend our Malaysian Hospitality service even further.

With an average load factor of 81% between the two markets, it’s clear that people are increasingly confident in making travel plans. Group managing director of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) Datuk Captain Izham Ismail stated that the company plans to increase flight frequencies to other destinations and restore its pre-Covid capacity in the Indian market by the end of this year.

Malaysia Airlines will increase service on many routes to Australasia in December.

Double-daily service to Melbourne and Sydney from Kuala Lumpur will grow to 15 and 16 weekly flights, respectively.

Flights to Guangzhou and Beijing Daxing will also resume weekly, while those to Shanghai will increase from nine to ten, those to Hong Kong from eleven to fourteen, those to Jakarta from twenty-eight to thirty-five, those to Bangkok from thirty-four to forty-two, and those to Ho Chi Minh City from fifteen to nineteen.
