Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), a trailblazer in the cruise industry, is set to embark on a flavorful voyage with the launch of Norwegian Aqua, the latest marvel in its fleet and the pioneering ship of the Prima Plus Class. Scheduled to set sail in April 2025, Norwegian Aqua is charting a course for unparalleled gastronomic delights by introducing three novel onboard dining experiences.

In pursuit of crafting the ultimate vacation experience, Norwegian Aqua will feature Sukhothai, NCL’s inaugural Thai specialty restaurant, promising an authentic taste of Thailand’s vibrant culinary landscape. The restaurant’s eclectic menu is poised to offer a fresh take on classic Thai dishes, including Thai Cashew Chicken, Salt and Pepper Prawns, and Thai Grilled Steak Salad, complemented by a selection of rich curries. The ambience, designed by SMC Design of London, will fuse traditional Thai elements with modern flair, creating an inviting atmosphere that transports guests to the heart of Thailand.

Complementing the culinary lineup is Swirl Wine Bar, an elegant new venue where guests can indulge in a curated selection of wines by the glass and explore a trove of rare and premium vintages. Nestled on deck six, Swirl Wine Bar’s design, courtesy of Studio DADO, draws inspiration from the mesmerizing Antelope Canyon, offering a sanctuary of warmth and tranquillity for wine aficionados.

Planterie, the brand’s first dedicated plant-based eatery, set to debut at the Indulge Food Hall, adds a green touch to the gastronomic journey. With a menu featuring dishes like the Southwest Bowl with smoked tempeh and the Mediterranean Goddess Bowl, Planterie caters to health-conscious travellers seeking nourishing and flavorful options. The Indulge Food Hall, reimagined by the Rockwell Group, will boast a contemporary design inspired by global food marketplaces, offering indoor and outdoor seating for a diverse dining experience.

David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line, reflects on the importance of culinary discovery during travel, stating, “Expanding on our award-winning food and beverage program, we’re excited to introduce these new concepts aboard Norwegian Aqua, enhancing the variety and value that NCL is known for.”

As Norwegian Aqua prepares to make waves in the cruise industry, these new dining venues are set to become the highlights of an already impressive array of onboard offerings. With its commitment to innovation and excellence, NCL continues to redefine the cruise dining experience, inviting guests to savour every moment of their journey at sea.

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is charting a course for culinary and design excellence by unveiling the Norwegian Aqua, the latest jewel in its crown and the 20th vessel in its fleet. Set to embark on its maiden voyage in April 2025, Norwegian Aqua represents the next evolution of the Prima Plus Class, offering guests an array of new and returning dining experiences, each wrapped in a unique ambience.

The Commodore Room, one of the ship’s main complimentary dining rooms, will now feature a rustic yet luxurious design inspired by its sea-faring namesake. Studio DADO has crafted an environment that pays homage to the imaginative narrative of the captain’s room, transporting guests to the bygone era of maritime sophistication with antique wood furnishings, leather banquettes, pier-like floors, and incredible stone accents, all with a delicate, modern touch.

Metropolitan, the modern Sail & Sustain cocktail bar and winner of the 2024 Vibe Vista Award for “Best Beverage Program,” will return aboard Norwegian Aqua with a distinctly new design. Relocated to the aft of deck seven, the bar will now feature a grand piano and a small entertainment space, allowing guests to enjoy live music alongside their sustainable libations. Inspired by the art deco and mid-century modern areas of New York City, the bar’s design offers an intimate enclave with dark hues, eye-catching motifs, and fresh greenery.

Nama Sushi and Sashimi, first introduced on Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva, will feature a fresh, lively design aboard Norwegian Aqua. Studio DADO has infused the space with the vibrant energy of Manga art, creating a playful dining experience with bold lime green and black colors.

Surfside Café, located on deck 17, will boast floor-to-ceiling windows, providing guests with scenic views as they enjoy a diverse buffet-style dining experience. The venue, designed by A.D. Associates, will showcase warm colours, sunset tones, and timeless colour palettes. Adjacent to Surfside Café, Palomar, the upscale Mediterranean seafood dining venue will feature an elevated design with natural materials and pops of blue and dark purple shades.

The Whiskey Bar will find a new home on deck six near the brand-new Swirl Wine Bar, while the Belvedere Bar will move to the heart of the atrium on deck eight, offering nightcaps and nightly entertainment. Penrose Bar and Waves Pool Bar will also feature new designs, and famous venues like The Local Bar & Grill, Hasuki, and Cagney’s will be expanded to accommodate more guests.

Guest favourites such as Hudson’s, Le Bistro, Los Lobos, and Onda by Scarpetta will return to Norwegian Aqua. Each offers a unique dining experience, from scenic views to al fresco dining on Ocean Boulevard.

Norwegian Aqua will tantalize the taste buds and thrill with industry- and brand-first experiences like the Aqua Slidecoaster, the world’s first hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide; the Glow Court, a digital sports complex; and the Three-Bedroom Duplex Haven Suites in The Haven by Norwegian®.

With the Free at Sea program, guests can enjoy specialty dining credits, unlimited beverage packages, shore excursion credits, Wi-Fi minutes, and more, adding more value to their vacation.

As Norwegian Aqua prepares to set sail, it promises to be a vessel where every detail is curated for guest enjoyment, from the innovative design to the exceptional culinary offerings, ensuring a journey as memorable as the destinations themselves.

Norwegian Aqua is gearing up for its debut in April 2025 with an exciting lineup of Caribbean itineraries. Setting off from Port Canaveral, Florida, the ship will embark on seven-day voyages that promise sun-soaked adventures and tropical tranquillity. Passengers will be treated to the picturesque landscapes of Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, the serene beaches of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, the vibrant culture of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the exclusive retreat of Great Stirrup Cay, NCL’s private island in the Bahamas.

As the seasons change, Norwegian Aqua will navigate northward, offering five and seven-day excursions to the pink-sand paradise of Bermuda. Departing from the bustling metropolis of New York City, these voyages, running from August through October 2025, will provide guests with a perfect blend of city excitement and island serenity.
