New research reveals Barcelona as the most popular destination for travellers seeking adventure through Tik Tok this summer with over 25B views. A new study from Cruise Croatia reveals a guide of the current most popular destinations on TikTok with Barcelona topping the list with 25 billion views.
As affirmed by Google’s Senior Vice President Prabhakar Raghavan, TikTok has become the go-to source for information among 40% of Gen Z, surpassing traditional search engines.
The study analysed 155 different countries and the search trends of travellers on TikTok over a 4-month period (March 5th 2023 to July 3rd 2023) using hashtags #DESTINATION and #DESTINATIONtravel.
Here are the top 10 most viewed destinations
Contrary to previous studies that labelled Dubai as the top-searched destination on TikTok, Cruise Croatia’s current research, based on the latest data, places Dubai at 28th on the list in the past 4 months.
While overall views indicate popularity, our research goes beyond providing real-time travel destinations.
The data in this study reflects the rapidly evolving trends of TikTok users, offering valuable insights into current travel preferences, ultimately aiding 76% of users who say TikTok inspires them to travel (tiktok.com).
Overall Key Findings
Topping the charts as the most viewed destination on TikTok is Barcelona, Spain, with 24 billion views and counting.
